Ethan’s playroom makeover

Ethan’s Christmas present from us this year was his playroom makeover.  This room had been used for nothing more than a furniture graveyard since we moved in, and we were excited to make good use of the space.  So far he is loving the change the environment and having all his toys in one place!  He also loves that he can push the buttons on the tv!

BEFORE: White walls and a whole lot of nothing.

AFTER: A playroom fit for a king!

Lots of storage for toys.

Best idea ever – I made a screen to block the room to the litter boxes so the cats get in but Ethan can’t!

New coat rack to hold lots of tiny coats.

Art wall for all of Ethan’s creations from school.

Train set, garage and cars, and a perch for the cats.

There is still room left to add new projects.  I’m looking forward to all the time I will be spending down here with my little man!

Sewing projects

Here is an update of my sewing projects.  The first is my in progress item: cushions for our dining room chairs.  I am having a terrible time finding foam to go in them, so they are on hold for now.  I have actually made one, but I want to make sure it works with the foam before I make them all.

Next are my reusable grocery bags.  I bought a pattern, but had a terrible time following the directions.  They are supposed to be lined, but I ended up not lining them and making 2 bags out of each fabric instead of 1.

My next project will be to hem a set of curtains I cut in half today for the windows in our bedroom.  After that I’m not sure, but I’m thinking about making some scrub tops!
